Associates Architects Firm History
Slocum Architects was founded in 1970 as Dick W. Slocum, Architect
and incorporated in 1981 under its present name. Slocum Associates
has been the sole Architect for Fifth Third Bank Southwest since
1970.We have increased this repeat client base over the years to
include Sherman Lake YMCA and the Family Health Centers of Kalamazoo
and Battle Creek.Our experience in building types encompasses health
care, industrial, recreational, municipal, religious, banks, camps,
office, retail, manufacturing, and housing.
Slocum
Architects is an award-winning architectural firm which maintains
a highly experienced eight-member staff, three of which are registered
Architects. Slocum Architects is located in the Kindleberger Commons,
an office complex shared with other design professionals, and is
led by the two Principals, Jonathan H. C. Rambow, AIA, and John
J. Steele, Associate AIA.
The goal of Slocum Architects for the past 35 years has been to
achieve quality projects. The projects that Slocum Architects has
designed fulfill both the functional and aesthetic needs a pleasant
working and living environment requires. We are particularly pleased
with the fact that most of our work is with repeat customers. We
believe that this reflects the quality of the service we provide
and the type of working relationship that we develop with our clients.
It is our primary orientation toward design for implementation
that has kept us abreast of the latest technologies of construction.
In addition, Slocum Architects has 35 years of experience in producing
special environments that satisfy our clients needs and promote
the essence of good design.
